This policy sets out the conditions under which products are returned and the amounts paid are refunded for purchases from georgianamanolache.ro. The rules differ between physical products and digital ones.
1. Physical products: you have 14 days to change your mind
The printed edition of the book can be returned within 14 calendar days from the day you received it, without giving any reason and without penalties.
How to proceed. You can also withdraw online: fill in the form on the Withdrawal from contract page. Or write to me at contact@georgianamanolache.ro, or use the form at the end of this page. I confirm receipt by e-mail. You send the book back within 14 days of your notice, to Str. Brăilei nr. 200, Galați, Romania, at your own expense.
How much you get back. I refund the full amount paid, within 14 days of your notice, using the same payment method. I may wait until I receive the book or proof that you have shipped it.
If it has been read. You may leaf through the book as you would in a bookshop. If you return it with a bent spine, folded corners, underlining or notes, the copy can no longer be sold as new, and the refund is reduced in proportion to the loss, under art. 14 para. (3) of OUG no. 34/2014. I will tell you how much is withheld and why.
2. Exception to the right of withdrawal for digital products
The products sold on the site are digital products delivered by download (with no physical medium). For these products, under Art. 16(m) of Government Emergency Ordinance (OUG) 34/2014 (transposing Directive 2011/83/EU), the 14-day right of withdrawal does NOT apply, subject to the following cumulative conditions:
- Performance of the contract began with the consumer’s prior express consent
- The consumer acknowledged that they would lose the right of withdrawal once performance began (by ticking the consent box at checkout)
By completing the order and starting the download of the product, you expressly accept that you have received the economic value of the contract and waive the 14-day right of withdrawal.
Why this exception? Once the digital content has been delivered (PDF downloaded or access link received), the paid information has been fully delivered and cannot be “returned.” Granting a refund after download would mean the customer keeps both the product and the money, a situation European consumer law does not allow precisely for digital products.
3. Situations in which a refund is granted
A refund is granted exclusively in the following exceptional situations, where they arise from causes attributable to the seller:
3.1. Corrupted or unreadable file
If the downloaded PDF cannot be opened with standard programs (Adobe Acrobat Reader, Foxit, browser PDF viewer) or contains missing/corrupted pages, you are entitled to a full refund OR a replacement file with a working version, at your choice.
3.2. Non-functional download link
If the download link does not work and you do not receive access within 24 hours of payment, even after contacting support, you are entitled to a full refund.
3.3. Significant difference from the description
If the product delivered differs significantly from the description on the sales page (e.g. different number of pages, essential content missing), you are entitled to a full refund within a maximum of 14 days of download.
3.4. Double payment due to a technical error
If, due to a technical error, a double payment was processed for the same order, the duplicate amount is refunded automatically within 14 working days, with no request needed from you.
4. The refund request procedure
- Contact support at contact@georgianamanolache.ro within a maximum of 14 days of purchase
- Describe the issue precisely: the type of product, the order number, the reason for the request
- Attach evidence: screenshots of the error, the technical message, a comparison with the description
- Guaranteed reply within a maximum of 5 working days
- The refund, if approved, is made by bank transfer to the account from which the payment was made, within a maximum of 14 working days
5. What does not constitute grounds for a refund
- “I didn’t like the content” or disagreement with the author’s views
- Results different from personal expectations (the book provides information and methods, but implementation is up to the reader)
- A change of mind after purchase
- A mistaken purchase (by error) if the product has already been downloaded
- The decision not to use the product
6. Dispute resolution
If we disagree about a refund request, you have the right to use:
- ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) through the ANPC (the Romanian consumer protection authority)
- The competent courts in Romania
