Manolache G. Georgiana PFA is committed to ensuring that georgianamanolache.ro and the digital products sold on it are accessible, in line with the European Accessibility Act (EU Directive 2019/882, transposed into Romanian law by Law 232/2022), which has applied since 28 June 2025.
1. Conformance standard
The website is built to meet the WCAG 2.1 AA level (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines), the reference standard of the EAA. Conformance is partial, and improvements are ongoing. This page gives an honest account of where things currently stand.
2. Conformant elements
- Semantic HTML5 structure, correctly nested headings (H1 → H2 → H3), navigation with landmarks (header, main, nav, footer, article)
- Keyboard navigation, all interactive elements reachable via Tab/Shift+Tab, visible focus, logical order
- Alt text on content images (meaningful description for screen readers)
- Text and background contrast of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, verified on the brand palette (black on white, gold on a dark background)
- Declared language, the
lang="ro"orlang="en"attribute on the HTML element for screen readers - Contact form with a label tied to every field and validation that gives clear messages
- Descriptive links, link text that describes the destination (not a generic „click here”)
- Responsive design, the site works on desktop, tablet and mobile, with scalable font sizes
- Skip to content, a hidden link, activated with Tab, that jumps to the main content
3. Known limitations
At the current stage, the following aspects are being improved:
- Some decorative images may have an empty alt attribute instead of an explicit
alt="", currently being corrected - The PDF books sold follow a text-based semantic structure (headings, paragraphs, lists) but are not optimised for screen readers according to PDF/UA. Readers with visual impairments can request alternative versions free of charge (text-only, larger font, audio where possible), see the „Accessibility requests and feedback” section below.
- Embedded videos (where they exist) do NOT have automatic transcripts or captions, available on request by email
- A full WCAG 2.1 AA audit with a professional tool (axe DevTools, WAVE, Lighthouse) is planned quarterly
4. Assistive technologies tested
The site has been tested with:
- NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access), Windows, open-source screen reader
- Chrome Lighthouse Accessibility audit, automated accessibility score
- Keyboard-only navigation, without a mouse, using only Tab/Enter/Space
5. Accessibility requests and feedback
If you have difficulty accessing the content, or you need:
- An alternative version of a PDF book (text-only, larger font, screen-reader compatible format)
- A transcript or description of media content
- Help filling in a form
- To report an accessibility bug found on the site
Contact us at contact@georgianamanolache.ro with the subject „Accessibility”. A reply is guaranteed within a maximum of 5 working days. Providing the alternative version for purchased products is free of charge.
6. Complaints procedure
If you are not satisfied with the reply you receive to an accessibility request, you have the right to complain to ANPC or to the national authority responsible for the rights of consumers with disabilities:
- ANPC, the National Authority for Consumer Protection: anpc.ro
- The National Authority for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Children and Adoptions: anpd.gov.ro
7. Legal status, micro-enterprise
Manolache G. Georgiana PFA is a micro-enterprise as defined in Article 2 of Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC (fewer than 10 employees, under EUR 2 million turnover). Under Article 4 of EU Directive 2019/882, micro-enterprises that provide only services may be exempt from the EAA obligations. The sale of digital products (PDF books) does, however, fall within the scope of the Act. This statement meets the transparency obligation and supports the availability of accessible content.
Document prepared in accordance with: EU Directive 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act), Law 232/2022 (Romanian transposition), WCAG 2.1 AA (W3C standard), Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (accessibility requirements for ICT products and services).
